The Davis Brothers Band will attempt to answer most common questions below.

How much do you charge?
Unfortunately, it is really difficult to give an indication of our charges without knowing a bit more about your event. Various things can affect the cost of hiring a band including the size and location of the venue, the length of time you want us to play and the equipment we will need to bring. 

Our priority is to give your guests the best possible experience and to work within your budget wherever possible.  Back to top

What areas do you cover?
The band is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba so our most competitive rates will be for bookings in this region. For venues more than 3 hours traveling time from Winnipeg, we will charge a fee for the overnight accommodation of 3 people in addition to our performance fee.  Back to top

Where can I see you play?
To watch us perform please check out the "Shows" section of this website for our next show.  If it is a public event you and all of your friends are invited to come out.   Contact us to discuss this further.

We do have videos on this website to give you a better idea of how we appear and sound when playing live. In the meantime, please view our photos section for an idea of how we typically dress for a  function.  Back to top

Will the band need a PA or special lighting?
The band will supply their own PA. We also supply a dedicated lighting rig if requested during negotiations to hire the band.

Do you take song requests?
Our clients are welcome to make as many requests as they like in advance from our current set list, and the band will accommodate as many of these as possible. However the band cannot guarantee to accommodate all requests.

What venues will you play?
The band will perform at a wide variety of venues such as weddings, corporate gigs, special occasion functions, retirement parties, year end parties, private parties, music festivals, etc.   The band will also perform in marquees or outdoors, under cover, if the weather allows it. Where the venue is more than 2 hours drive away from Winnipeg, the band may have to make an additional charge.

How much space do you need?
We can squeeze ourselves onto a small stage if necessary.  The larger the stage, the more we can move around to get your guests excited and enjoying themselves! Generally a stage 6.0m by 3.5m is adequate for our performance.

How much time do you need to set up?
Usually we need at 1-2 hours to set up the PA and sound check in advance of the performance. We prefer to carrying out the sound-check before the arrival of guests where possible. Back to top

How long do you normally play for?
The band will perform a total of 2-3 hours of live music, either as 2 sets with a break or 3 shorter sets with 2 breaks.  Back to top

Will I also need to hire a DJ?
We are happy to play a selection of continuous music that is mixed together before and between our performances. Most clients do not find that they need a DJ in addition to the band.  Back to top

Booking:
Contact the band to discuss booking details.  Once a booking is confirmed, the band will contact the client whenever necessary if details need to be checked, clarified, confirmed or discussed. Back to top
